Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Goes Global: New Venture with Mediawan and the Qureshi Sisters

Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap, is taking its creator-driven approach international with the launch of LuckyChap International, a new London-based film and TV venture in partnership with Mediawan Group. This exciting expansion is led by the dynamic duo, sisters Mona and Tanya Qureshi, who will serve as co-managing directors of the international arm. The joint venture is set to officially launch in January 2026, marking a significant milestone in LuckyChap’s journey.

Mona and Tanya Qureshi bring a wealth of experience to the table. Mona previously directed scripted series at Netflix U.K., overseeing titles like Adolescence, Scott Frank’s Dept Q, and Lena Dunham’s Too Much. Tanya, on the other hand, comes from the BBC, where she served as commissioning editor in drama and head of comedy, overseeing projects such as Riot Women, Waiting for the Out, Am I Being Unreasonable?, and Amandaland. Together, they embody a shared passion for storytelling, having cheered each other on through their individual careers.

LuckyChap’s partners, including Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Milan Popelka, expressed their enthusiasm for this international expansion. They believe that combining Mediawan’s storytelling prowess and strategic capabilities with the creative leadership of Mona and Tanya Qureshi is a powerful move. This partnership aims to empower storytellers and expand LuckyChap’s mission globally.

Pierre-Antoine Capton, Mediawan’s chairman and co-founder, shared their excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing their commitment to championing creative excellence and outstanding stories from the best talents worldwide. The U.K. presence, under the leadership of Mona and Tanya Qureshi, is seen as a bridge between American and European creative industries, opening new doors for premium content production and audience reach.

LuckyChap retains majority ownership and control of the new entity, which will work closely with their existing U.S. teams while leveraging the creative and production advantages of the U.K. and Europe. This move further solidifies LuckyChap’s global footprint, following the success of Barbie and an upcoming slate that includes Megan Park’s Sterling Point and Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights, set for release by Warner Bros. in 2026.

The partnership with Mediawan also strengthens LuckyChap’s ties to the fast-growing European studio, founded by Capton, Xavier Niel, and Matthieu Pigasse. Mediawan has established itself as a major player in prestige film and TV, with a global network of production labels across 14 countries. This collaboration marks a significant step in LuckyChap’s international expansion, promising exciting opportunities for both companies.
